The Secret Organization Known As Majestic 12

The Majestic 12 is a secret organization that is based in the United States. UFO enthusiasts believe that the group is a government organization responsible for covering up and keeping quiet all UFO and alien information. The FBI adamantly states that the group does not exist, but UFO enthusiasts do not believe them.

Majestic 12 is an old organization, created shortly after World War 2. This organization was created in 1947, after the Roswell UFO crash. President Truman created the organization for the sole purpose of learning about alien technology and keeping all information about UFOs and aliens away from the public. This group was comprised of 12 different high-ranking officials, such as generals, scientists of both biology and medical fields, engineers of aerospace, astronomy, and high-ranking members of the CIA. UFO enthusiasts believe that the group had CIA type men working for them; they called these men “men in black” due to their typical garb of black suits and dark sunglasses and their secretive aloof dispositions. Hence where the Blockbuster movie "Men in Black" got its name. 

The validity of the Majestic 12 is highly disputed. Those who believe the group was real put forth documents as proof. There is a letter by President Truman that talks about creating the Majestic 12 organization, a few documents sent from American officials to Canadian officials about programs dealing with UFOs and aerospace, and a document on how a group in the pentagon was working on something UFO connected. Those who believe the organization was fake countered with proving that many of the documents were fraudulent and were simply created by crazy UFO enthusiasts. They also put forth that if the organization did exist it does not any longer, as no documentation can be found on it after 1997. UFO enthusiasts say that not finding documentation after 1997 does not mean that the organization no longer exists; it simply means that the government has done a better job of covering it up.

Was the Majestic 12 a real organization created by President Truman or just a hoax made up by overzealous UFO enthusiasts? We will probably never know for sure. While there is a list of names of possible members of the Majestic 12, these people died before the first evidence was found. Possibly this secret organization existed in the 1940’s and 1950’s and was abandoned in the 1960’s. However, Majestic 12 could still be around today, doing business in the shadows where no one is looking.
